Artist Statement

My name is Anna Chernobai. To the best of my memory, my artistic journey began at age seven with a colorful drawing of my room that inspired my mother to enroll me in art lessons. Between ages 11 and 14, I studied with a professional painter, and that’s about as much formal art education as I’ve received. I painted and drew
throughout my youth, exploring gouache, pastels, and graphite, before pausing for family and career. Around 2022, I rediscovered my artistic passion and now work primarily in watercolors.
