Artist Statement

Having worked as a flight attendant many years ago, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to more than 100 countries and have a large collection of photographs from various locations. Often my artwork is reminiscent of one or more of the countries I’ve visited or of the encounters I had there. The three pieces I’m entering were
inspired by my frequent travels to Africa and my experiences living for a brief time in Colombia. Mixed Media is my first love but when traveling with only acrylics, brushes, and paper, I like to explore a naive style of painting to capture my first memory of a given city.
