I make abstract metal art to bring awareness and change to social and environmental issues. My process is an attempt to give back and convey my story to the viewer.
My art represents my view of the world which is driven by gratitude and love. And while I understand that there is injustice and inequality in the world, there is always room for improvement.
I am constantly inspired by nature and wildlife. I was initially inspired by the work of Dali and Escher. Living in the mountains of southern Oregon, I have found a never ending source of ideas and pathways to follow.
Having been a metal worker for over 20 years, the addition of forging skills, made me realize that there were few if any hurdles to creating an abstract art story. I prefer working with simple shapes and forms, using the patina and finishing process to add depth to the work.
My art allows me to form deeper connections with people. Watching a smile form on a viewer’s face is what keeps me motivated.
