Karen Safer, a native Angelino, internationally exhibited, award-winning photographic artist. Her art passion began when given camera & crayons at 3 and immersed in California’s visual language. A lifelong traveler,having explored 230+ countries/territories, embracing the exotic and unexpected. Her inspirations range from ancients to Cindy Sherman. She began as a painter, earning a master’s degree (CSULB and UCLA) and a professional career in design/architecture. With 14 solo and 670+ exhibits, she has received 610+ awards, including Julia M Cameron Award, PISPA, TIFA, reFocus, and Exposure One. Her work has been featured in
180+ publications: LENS, Dodho, ArtTalk and Spotlight. exhibits worldwide: London, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Venice,Florence, Barcelona, Budapest, Dubai, São Paulo, Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Zurich, New York to Los Angeles.
Her work is in collections, and she is a member of many organizations: LAAA, LACP, IAA-USA, APA-LA.
