Artist Statement

My artistic practice involves visualizing opposing ideas and uncovering their
commonalities through imagery. I am particularly drawn to exploring contrasts within
constructed systems—technology and nature, old and new, vivid color and muted tones, the
mundane and the divine, reflection and tangible objects. By deconstructing these opposing
forces, I seek to examine their nuances while striving for harmony and balance.
Through this process, I aim to capture a sense of timeless beauty by intertwining the organic
forms of nature with the dynamic energy of contemporary aesthetics. My work bridges the natural and the human-made, fostering a visual dialogue that reimagines
familiar forms in bold, modern contexts.
Color plays a crucial role in my practice, not only as a stylistic choice but also as a means of
structuring composition and meaning. I employ color theory—particularly contrast of
extension—to strategically balance, emphasize, and create depth within my work. This
approach allows me to explore the proportion and distribution of color, integrating it
seamlessly into both the design and the narrative of each piece. By observing the interplay
of colors, I translate them into a visual language that enhances the thematic and conceptual
elements of my work.

Artist Biography

Born and raised in Philadelphia, I began my artistic journey at the High School for the Creative and Performing Arts, where my passion for art was nurtured. I continued my formal training at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, honing my skills in traditional fine art techniques and developing a strong foundation in painting and drawing.
As a fine artist, I am driven by a passion for creating unique and expressive works that blend the familiar with the unexpected. My early fascination with pop culture—drawing characters from TV and movies and placing them in imaginative worlds—laid the groundwork for my artistic voice. Today, nostalgia and pop culture remain central themes in my work, serving as a bridge between the viewer’s personal memories and new, thought-provoking experiences.
I work across a variety of mediums, including paint, charcoal, and digital media, embracing the challenge of pushing the boundaries of my art. My process often involves juxtaposing grounded, recognizable imagery with surreal, superimposed color to create a sense of transformation or otherworldliness. This interplay between the real and the abstract invites viewers to explore the layers of meaning within my pieces. In addition to my fine art background, I have recently ventured into the world of design, drawn by the intersection of art and function. This exploration allows me to merge creativity with practicality, bringing a fresh perspective to collaborative projects.
My artistic philosophy centers on the belief that art should resonate with something familiar, drawing viewers into the work and inviting them to engage deeply. By introducing unexpected elements and reimagining familiar concepts, I aim to create pieces that feel both accessible and transformative.
Through my art, I strive to evoke a sense of wonder, nostalgia, and curiosity, offering viewers an
opportunity to see the world in a new light.
