Artist Statement

As an intuitive painter, I embrace the unknown, allowing each piece to unfold organically. My work exists in the space between abstraction and figuration, bridging the seen and the unseen, the dreamt and the real.Using layered textures, bold color contrasts, and dynamic compositions, I create visual narratives that invite viewers to explore their own interpretations. Vivid Horizons, Circles of Evolution, and Reflections of the Mind reflect this journey—expressions of transformation, self-discovery, and the fluid nature of perception. Each piece begins without a predetermined image, allowing emotion and movement to guide the process, resulting in work that resonates on both a personal and universal level.

Artist Biography

Precious Burger is an American artist whose vibrant, intuitive works celebrate the power of storytelling and the resilience of the human spirit. With a background as an elementary art teacher for nearly three decades, she transitioned to her full-time artistic practice after retirement, driven by her passion for creative expression and connection.
Her work has been exhibited at the Vienna Arts Society, Art at the Mill, and Falls Church Arts and in many online shows. Featured in international shows and publications, including Circle Arts’ EuropArtFair in Amsterdam, Novum Artis, and Arts to Hearts, Women Artists on the Rise, Burger received recognition in the Circle Foundation’s Group Exhibit Contest twice (Masterful Mind Award) and Biafarin’s Exhibizone Grand Prize (Public Choice Award). She serves as an Artist in Residence at Palette 22 and Alton Cottage.
Drawing on her Appalachian roots, she infuses her art with themes of nature, authenticity, and
transformation. Whether blending representation with abstraction or exploring mixed media, her art resonates with those seeking emotional depth and creative inspiration.
For Precious, art is both a sanctuary and a celebration of shared humanity. When not in the studio, she enjoys spending time with her husband and writing her weekly newsletter, Joyful Expressions.
