Artist Statement

As a painter I find it important to practice my drawing skills on a regular basis One method of drawing practice I use is an exercise in the free association of lines and curves, a kind of purposeful doodling. This practice stimulates my imagination and ideas for, and sometimes entire paintings come from these drawings. The
paintings I have entered in this show are examples of paintings that come from this practice. The cartoon quality of the paintings is an art form I have always enjoyed and represents me well as both an artist and individual.
